Caroline Higgs
Caroline captures what is on the periphery of visual perception and on the edge of our consciousness, often banal visions or subjects, taking the qualities and distortions generated by the interplay of light and object, and translates these into paintings and drawings. The resulting images oscillate or occupy a space between figuration and abstraction, and objectify light while arresting transitory moments in form.
Using traditional tools and methods in painting, drawing, and photography, she is exploring temporal and spatial perception in relation to memory whilst attempting to unravel relationships between the peripheral, banal and the uncanny.
Born in London in 1980. Currently lives and works in Hove, East Sussex.

I'm looking for a suitable Open House venue that is already established or registered on the circuit for May 2011, and also in advance of May 2012. One in or close to the Hove or Central Brighton trails would be ideal. I'm specifically looking at this point to show oil paintings on canvas and possibly framed charcoal drawings. Please look up my website or contact me by email for further information about my work or to discuss any arrangements or requirements you have.
