Artists Open Houses (AOH) provide a great opportunity to view unique work in artists’ homes and studios and to buy directly from the artist or maker.

There are now two Open House festivals during the year:

  • Summer (May)
  • Christmas (November/December)

The Christmas Open Houses festival

The 2010 festival dates are November 27th & 28th, December 4th & 5th and December 11th & 12th.

Details of all listed venues will be available on our website and also on the AOH iphone app from early November. Brochures will be available throughout the city from early November.

Information on the previous Xmas 2009 Festival is available in the AOH Xmas 2009 section.

The main Open Houses Festival takes place over the first four weekends in May, during the Brighton Festival.

More than 1,000 artists exhibit their work at over 200 venues, spread across the city of Brighton and Hove and the surrounding area. This is the biggest event of its kind in the country and has been running since Ned Hoskins first opened his house to the public in 1981.

The 2011 festival dates are May 7th & 8th, 14th & 15th, 21st & 22nd and 28th & 29th.
