the press goes over the house

Last year Janet Brooke had a studio built in her garden (36 Cobden Road, number 13 on the Hanover Trail) and the only way her Victorian printing press could be installed was to lift it over the house with a huge (30m. span) crane. As you can imagine it caused rather a stir in this small terraced street.

The linocut on the left shows the press going over the rooftops – printed on said press, of course - and it will be on show for the first time in this year’s Open House. There is also a film of the whole event!
