This Saturday (23/5) on the Bristol Estate trail we have another Artistic huge treat in store for you, at the Bristol Estate Community Association party to celebrate AOH’s newest trail…

In addition to the four vibrant multi media open studios, Ingrid Plum, Emma Troy, Jill Parsons and Bonny Cummins and very special guests , there will be a sculpture made between 2 and 5pm ,by invited guest artist Lucy Gottlieb who is exhibiting a small cast piece in Bonny’s studio.

Lucy Gottlieb who is well known for her dress pieces is being commissioned by the Bristol Estate Community Association in collaboration with the studio Artists, to create a piece, entitled Angel of the Allotment.

Children aged seven years and upwards can join her to help with the construction, by contacting the Bristol Estate AOH Trail Rep – Bonny Cummins – on 0788 442 6849, or by email: pierblu@hotmail.com

Alternarively, you can contact Graham Allen (Community Worker) on 01273 272767

Places are limited to several groups of small numbers, so don’t delay.

Lucy who trained at Camberwell School of Art and has exhibited widely is well known for her dress pieces her most recent was exhibited in Brick lane please see photo inset.

The piece Lucy is creating on Saturday is called Angel of the Allotment and will be placed in the story telling area of the allotment , surrounded by ground elder ,when complete. At the next stage it will be covered with coloured slips and grass seeds so by full summer will be a green fully organic Angel of the Allotment.

The allotment organisers and volunteers led by Linda and Joy have worked tirelessly with the volunteer team and residents to clear the allotment and it’s a thriving organic community allotment and an area of extreme beauty on the Bristol estate. The views are stunning . There are benches and it has been newly fenced. Linda says all are welcome to visit and there’s usually a cup of tea on the go! And certainly a very warm welcome.

Please watch this space for further details. The sculpture will be made outdoors weather permitting near the hall. It will be clearly sign posted.
